Today, the consumer is spoiled by the abundance and variety of cosmetics. In addition to moisturizing cream, which has long become a must-have in every woman’s makeup bag, we are offered various serums, creams and fluids. Let’s figure out what these products are, how they differ from each other, and what their role is in the process of facial skin care.
Cream
A cream, as a rule, has a thick or liquid consistency, resembling an ointment. This product should have a pleasant color and smell and is intended for facial skin care. The cream can be moisturizing, nourishing or protective.
Every woman’s arsenal should include a day and night cream, as well as an eye cream. All three creams should match the skin type and age. The main functions of a day cream are moisturizing and protection.
At night, the skin rests due to the fact that the facial muscles are relaxed and free of flabbiness. A self-regeneration process occurs, which is activated by the help of a night cream. Our skin rests and at the same time receives additional nutrition while we sleep.
The skin around the eyes is very delicate, which requires special hydration and nourishment. That is why you should not forget about an eye cream that both nourishes and moisturizes the skin.
Day cream should be applied at least half an hour before going outside to protect your skin during the day. Night cream should be applied one and a half to two hours before bedtime so that the skin can absorb all the beneficial substances from the cream. The cream should be applied with light, non-stretching movements along the massage lines of the face.
There are many types of creams in modern cosmetology. One of the most popular is cream-sorbet. The cream received such a delicious name due to its light, melting texture, reminiscent of an airy soufflé. Sorbets are confidently gaining popularity among care products. The amrita® 30+ cosmetics line also includes a cream-sorbet for night use.
Fluid
Cream fluid, like sorbet, has appeared on the cosmetic market relatively recently. It is distinguished by a light silky texture, which ensures quick and even distribution of the product on the face, its instant absorption, as well as long-lasting hydration with a mattifying effect and visual smoothing of the skin’s relief. That is why fluids are ideal for owners of oily and combination skin.
The texture of the fluid differs from the texture of a moisturizing cream in the minimum content of fat components, that is, the ratio of water and oil. It has a light, weightless texture. In addition to the high water content, fluids contain substances that retain moisture in the skin and prevent its evaporation, as well as polymers that have the unique ability to neutralize excess sebum, which visually smoothes the surface of the skin, giving it a natural matte finish. Cream fluid is suitable for daily use as a base for makeup. We recommend trying the amrita® 30+ daily aqua fluid
Serum
A serum is a highly concentrated skin care product, a kind of cocktail of various beneficial substances – vitamins and antioxidants, fruit acids and healing minerals. Their concentration in serum is 10 times higher than, for example, in a cream. Therefore, you can often hear that serums are called elixirs.
Serums are designed to solve a specific cosmetic problem. For example, they restore, tighten, whiten, regulate the work of the sebaceous glands, rejuvenate. The spectrum of action of serums is huge.
The texture of serums is much lighter than the texture of any cream, and is a lightweight emulsion on a water or fat basis. Due to their light consistency, serums are suitable for any skin type.
The serum base contains enhancers – special ingredients-conductors that make the skin more permeable, as a result of which the active components penetrate the skin faster, more effectively and deeper.
The high concentration of active substances and deep penetration allow the serum to instantly improve the condition of the skin, giving it a radiant, fresh look.
The serum should be applied to cleansed facial skin, as a base for the cream, to enhance its effect. For example, if the task of the serum is moisturizing, then in a duet with a moisturizing cream the effect will be maximum. But it is important to remember that the serum cannot replace the cream itself, it rather serves as a conductor for the cream to the deeper layers of the skin, and it should be used after the age of 25.
We talked about the basic facial skin care products, which are the basis of all care cosmetics. By regularly caring for the skin of your face, neck and décolleté, using natural products without parabens, sulfates and silicones, you will ensure your skin has a healthy, well-groomed and radiant appearance.
